EKG interpretation Training Course

The ECG or EKG (electrocardiogram) is a noninvasive examination that is used to indicate fundamental heart conditions by measuring the electrical movement of the heart. Many cardiovascular disorders  can be discovered by seeking for distinctive forms on the EKG. through aligning leads (electrical detection units) on the body in stipulated areas.

EKG leads are affixed to the torso while the patient lays horizontally on a bed. Four Leads are attached to each extreme ends  and to six pre-defined spots on the front side of the chest. A simple amount of cream is applied to the skin, which  allows the electrical signals of the heart to be more smoothly transferred to the EKG leads.  The leads are connected by small suction cups or small adhesive patches fastened loosely to the skin area. The test takes about five minutes and is pain-free.  Occasionally, adult males might require the shaving of a slight amount of chest hair to acquire effective exposure between the leads and the skin.

What is measured or can be detected on the ECG (EKG)?

1.The basic speed and rhythm mechanism of the heart.

2. Signals of deterioration to the several portions of the heart muscle.

3.Sequences of irregular electric activity that may predispose the patient to unnatural cardiac rhythm disorder.

4.The inclination of the heart  in the chest cavity.

5. Proof of acutely diminished blood circulation to the heart muscle. 6. Indications of enhanced thickness of the heart muscle mass.

When is an ECG (EKG) performed?

1.As an aspect of a scheduled physical assessment or screening examination.

2 .In the preoperative work  for surgical treatment in patients who may be at an generation where heart disease could potentially be present.

3. During an examination of warning signs of chest pain, shortness of breath, giddiness or fainting, palpitations.

4 .As a component of a cardiac physical stress test.
